“Budda Boy” Ram Bahadur Bamjan: People Flock To See Budda Boy In Nepal


Ram Bahadur Bamjan is the teenage boy thought by many to be the reincarnation of Buddha sat quietly in the jungle as he blessed his devotees Wednesday with a light tap on the head. His followers believe this to be the “touch of the divine”.

Budda Boy sat in a white robe, with long hair flowing and never saying a word. The followers of Ram Bahadur Bamjan, 18, think that he has been there meditating without food and water since he was first spotted in the jungles of southern Nepal in 2005 The believers state that he sat without moving for months with his eyes closed underneath a tree.

But Bamjan came out of the jungle this week to meet his followers. Thousands of people have come to see him in the jungles of Rantapur.

“I got a chance to see God today,” Bishnu Maya Khadka, a housewife, said after receiving Bamjan’s blessing Wednesday. “They say he is Buddha, but for me he is just God.”

Bamjan appeared healthy and strong and certainly didn’t appear to be showing signs of starvation or dehydration.
