Whatever happened to… B*Witched?

Denim Fever swept the UK when B*witched exploded onto the scene with C’est La Vie back in 1998. Dressed head to toe in the funky blue fabric, the hyperactive foursome managed to make Irish Dancing cool again, or actually, just cool.

The Glory Days

The Irish girl group whipped British teenage girls into poptastic frenzy and as a result basked in the success of two albums and eight singles, all of which made the UK Top 20.

The original line-up of twin sisters Edele and Keavy Lynch, Sinéad O'Carroll and Lindsay Armaou managed to seduce the ears of kids all over Europe and North America as well as making denim the 'must-have' look of the season.

B*Witched's first four singles all topped the UK charts, making them the first Irish group to achieve that feat, but despite their initian success, the group split up in 2002 after being dropped by their record company.

The band were lucky in that Boyzone member Shane Lynch, who is Edele and Keavy's brother, helped the group find a manager, and consequently resulted in their signing to Epic Records.

B*Witched released their debut single C'est La Vie on May 25 1998 and despite mixed reviews it reached number one on the UK charts, as did their subsequent singles Rollercoaster, To You I Belong, and Blame It On The Weatherman.

Their debut album, B*Witched, was released on October 12 which made it to number 3 in the UK charts, as well as eventually being certified double platinum in the UK and platinum in the US.

Style Icon: Nicola Roberts

Nicola Roberts has had a hard time in the past having had her appearance constantly compared to her Girls Aloud bandmates but now she has matured into a true style icon who's indivuality and bold dress sense puts her streets ahead the other girls.

Newspapers and gossip columns have spent years teasing Nicola over her flame red hair and porcelain pale skin but these days she's stopped trying to conform to the tanorexic, Barbie doll look and become a role model for all us natural girls.

“For years I felt like the ugly one in Girls Aloud,” she admited recently to the News of the World, “I walked around looking unhappy and completely miserable because that’s how I felt for such a long time.”

“There I was - tall, skinny, with red hair and the whitest skin you’ve ever seen – standing next to four of the most gorgeous girls in Britain. They all look perfect with lovely hair and amazing tanned bodies. I was the ugly one, the odd one out.”

Red hair and pale skin can be difficult to work with and many redheads choose to stay away from bold colours for fear of clashing but Nicola shows that there really is no need to hide away.

Nicola is often seen working the brightest colours on the red carpet and even pulls off the dreaded red hair and pink dress combo with confidence.

While Nicola once thought her hair and skin tone were her downfall they have actually turned out to be quite the opposite.

Her healthy looking auburn locks always look bouncy and full of life while her pale skin gives her a great English rose complexion which stands her apart from the rest of her badmates.

Nicola has even created her own make up line specially designed for pale skin called Dainty Doll and already it's flying off the shelves as pale skinned girls everywhere follow her lead.

Nicola may have a reputation for being the quiet, forgetable member of Girls Aloud but I'm sure if you take another look you will agree that she definitely has unique style and natural beauty that's defintely worth remembering.

Exclusive Mary Elizabeth Winstead Interview

Actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead was well known to horror movie fans with her early roles in a string of movies in that genre including Final Destination and Black Christmas. But she broke into the mainstream last summer with Live Free of Die Hard.

Cast in the role of McClane's daughter Lucy he was thrown into the well established franchise and her career has since been on the up.

Her new role takes her into a new genre of the dance movie in Make It Happen which follows Lauryn as she tries to fulfil her dreams of becoming a professional dancer.

I caught up with Mary to chat about her new film, her career so far and what lies ahead for the young star.

You are starring in new movie Make It Happen what is it all about?

Basically it's about a young girl named Lauryn, who I play, who has dreams of being a dancer, it's her passion and she dreams of going to The Chicago School of Music and Dance. but she is from a small town in Glenwood Indiana so she has to make the move to Chicago to follow her dreams.

Once she gets there she auditions and she doesn't get in it's pretty humiliating and she doesn't want to go home and face her failure so she stays in Chicago and ends up working at a cabaret, burlesque club and dances there and learns a lot about herself, tones her skills and keeps following her dreams.

And what was it that drew you to the script?

Well the dancing was a big draw for me because I trained as a dancer most of my life and just the opportunity to do that in a film was really exciting to me so I thought 'why not'. (laughs)

Was burlesque something new for you and how comfortable were you performing it?

Yes burlesque was pretty new to me, I trained as a ballet dancer so most of the dancing was different for me, but I thought that I did have some structure of training that I could fall back on.

But it was a challenge I had to do quite a lot of training lots and lots of hours and the choreographers gave me a lot of tough love but in the end it worked out.

Well that sort of leads me into my next question what sort of preparation did you do for the film?

I had to do a month of training of about eight hours a day or more and it was pretty intense they wanted me to do everything so I was ding the tricks and all the crazy stuff that my body hadn't done in years. It was rough after the first few days I wasn't sure if my body was going to make it through it was so beaten and busied and twisted I could barely walk. But I somehow pushed through and by the end things were coming a lot easier to me and I was ready to film it, amazingly enough.

A lot of people will compare Make It Happen to the likes of Step Up and Save the Last Dance but how does it differ?

I think those film are always about a guy and a girl and them dancing together and finding each other this story is simple in the sense that it is just about this one girl and her struggle as a dancer. Also it doesn't take place in high school it takes after school when you are really trying to make it in the world of dance.

I know a lot of dancers, my sister is a professional dancer, and I really felt like I could relate to that story and that struggle of how tough it is to be a dancer and why they keep struggling and they keep doing because they are passionate about it even though sometimes it's not as rewarding as you would want it to be.

Director Darren Grant is better known as a music video director so what was he like to work with?

He was great he had a really great eye the film really looks great because he knows how to film those sequences, the dance sequences and the editing and to keep the viewers on their seat and their eyes pleased. He's worked with Beyonce and Destiny's Child so he knows what today's generation want to see and how to bring a new take on things.

You were known as a scream queen with movies such as Final Destination 3 and Death Proof is this a genre of film that you enjoy and how desperate were you to branch out into different genres for fear of being type cast?

For some reason I never feared being type cast I just take my roles based on the character, and the script, and the people that are doing the film and whether or not I think it would be fun to do the film.

I really love being part of the horror community it was something that I really enjoyed and really liked having those fans, the are really enthusiastic about those films, it was really fun to be part of that community so it wasn't something that I was particularly worried about.

But as an actor you do want to challenge yourself and step outside what you have done in the past and that what I like to do, I like to jump around and try different things and stretch myself. I'm most likely won't do horror for a while but it's just because I have done it already you move onto the next thing.

And what was it like working with Quentin Tarantino on Death Proof?

Fantastic he is brilliant and so much fun to be around and such a sweetheart I loved every minute of working with him. I still see him every now and again I will see him at the movies or something like that (laughs) it's really cool to be able to know him and be part of that posse of people that have worked with him. It's amazing and I hope to know him for a long time because I really love him.

Most people will know you from last year's Live Free or Die Hard what was it like stepping into such a well established franchise?

I don't think I realised how big a deal it was until after because i got thrown into it at the last second, they were kind of weren't sure if they were going to have a daughter in the film or not and right at the last minute they decided to go with the character, so they threw me in there and I was like 'cool I love the Die hard franchise I'll do it'.

Once it was over I started to realise the anticipation factor and what a big it was it was kind of overwhelming but I was so excited that I got to be a part of it.

How did you find working on such a big blockbuster?

It was different because they take so long to shoot and because I had a supporting role I would come in for a day and do a scene and then I would be gone for a month and then I would come back for a day.

It was different because you are not there on set everyday bonding it's such a bigger scale it's such a different thing to get into. But i just thought it was so cool to be around Bruce Willis and all that I was just this shy intimidated girl all the time but it was a really cool experience.

And what was he like to work with?

He was great he was really sweet to me and really kind he gave me lots of good advice but of course I couldn't shake the intimidation even though he was very sweet.

I read that you screen tested for the role of Wonder Woman can you tell me anything about that?

Yeah It was quite a few months back I tested for that and it's one of those things that leaked out onto the Internet and there's was all this speculation on whether I was going to get the part and all this stuff, it ended up going to an Australian actress who is beautiful and very Wonder Woman esq hopefully that all works out for her.

Finally what is next for you?

I'm doing a film called Scott Pilgrim vs. The World for Universal it's a big comedy action movie directed by Edgar Wright and starring Michael Cera. I'm very excited because again it's breaking out into new genres so it's really cool for me.

Catwoman Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is reportedly being lined up to star as Catwoman in a new movie.

The 33-year-old actress - who gave birth to twins, the fifth and sixth children she raises with partner Brad Pitt, earlier this month - is said to be in final negotiations with studio bosses to play the feline villain who first appeared in the Batman comics.

Angelina has already been approved for the role by Julie Newmar, who played Catwoman in the 'Batman' TV series from 1966 to 1968.

Julie, now 74, said: "Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me she has already made enquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman's one true love.

"She is tremendously popular with women because she's both a heroine and a villainess."

Since the TV series, other actresses to take on the role of Catwoman include Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992 movie 'Batman Returns', while Halle Berry's portrayal of the villain in 2004 film 'Catwoman' was panned by critics worldwide.

Angelina was recently tipped to be starring in 'The Thomas Crown Affair 2' alongside Pierce Brosnan, but has been ordered by bosses to put on 28lbs for the role

Liz Hurley's reality farm

Liz Hurley is set to star in her own reality TV show about her farm.

The fashion designer-and-actress lives on a farm in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, and the programme will follow her as she goes about her everyday life looking after chickens and sheep.

In the series, viewers will see Liz - who is famous for her flawless image - swap her designer clothes for a less glamorous wardrobe of torn jumpers and waterproof footwear.

She said: "People always imagine me with perfect hair. But that's not who I am. The first time he saw me in the country, my husband found me in wellies, covered in mud."

She is also accused of flooding a garden pond.
The landlord is refusing to return a $30,000 (GBP15,000) security deposit and is seeking more money to cover the cost of the work he had to carry out after the Olsen twin moved out.
But Olsen's lawyer, Marty Singer, tells TMZ.com the star was given permission to renovate the kitchen - and he claims the landlord stepped in before she had the chance to remodel it.
Olsen is fighting for the return of her security deposit.

Winehouse released after night in hospital

LONDON - Amy Winehouse was released from a London hospital Tuesday after an overnight stay to treat what her spokesman said was an adverse reaction to medication.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter was discharged from London’s University College after spending the night in observation, said spokesman Chris Goodman.

Winehouse was rushed to the hospital’s emergency room by ambulance from her north London home Monday night. Goodman said the medication had been taken at her home, but did not provide further details.“She had a bit of a scare yesterday because of a reaction to treatment. She was kept in overnight purely for observation,” Goodman said in a statement. “Amy is at home now after leaving with her father and manager. She is having a rest.”

Winehouse, who won Grammy Awards and global acclaim for her 2006 album, “Back to Black,” was admitted to a London clinic in June after collapsing at home. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, said at the time she had developed early stage emphysema from smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine.

But the troubled singer was released to perform at celebrations for former South African President Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday in London’s Hyde Park and for Britain’s Glastonbury music festival.

In addition to her health woes, Winehouse has had several run-ins with police in recent months.

She was investigated by police after a tabloid newspaper published a video that appeared to show her smoking crack cocaine. She was not charged.

Police also cautioned Winehouse in April for assault after she slapped a man during a night out.

Where Do Human Hair Extensions Really Come From?

Hair extensions have become huge of the last few years and we all love to add a little length to glam up our look for a big night out- but have you ever wondered where that hair really comes from?

"It's horse hair," swears my friend, "Or from dead people. Honestly who would really cut off all their own hair if it was that long?" Well he's wrong. There are in fact thousands of people around the world who do just that every day and they don't always get paid for it.

The best quality hair comes from Asian or Eastern European countries where poverty is high and work is poorly paid. These women often see selling their hair as the best way to make money and feed their families.

The 'hair factories' are very serious when they sign women into a contract to grow their hair a certain length and have strict conditions under which the hair must grow.

The women- and sometimes whole families- must keep their hair away from any contact with pollutants and make sure it is kept in top condition while to grows. Sometimes the factories even provide food for it's workers to ensure that the hair grows to a good enough standard.

When the time comes for the hair to be harvested the women line up at the factory before their heads are shaved completely bald and they are sent out to start the whole process again.

This may seem like a girl's worst nightmare to you but for many of these women it is the easiest and most effective way of providing for their family and the alternatives are much much worse.

However not all hair 'donors' benefit financially from such a huge sacrfice. In some parts of India women are conned out of their precious locks without even knowing they are then being sold to beef up the hair of beauty conscious women around the world.

In 2006 the Daily Mail reported how in the hills of Tirupati, in India, a Hindu temple has become the second richest religious site in the world- due mostly to it's sale of human hair.

The newspaper reported how every day, up to 4,000 women visit the temple to take part in a religious ceremony, called tonsuring, during which they shave off their hair as a sacrifice to the god Vishnu.

These women believe that taking part in the ceremony is a sign that they are willing to give up their pride and vanity, and to thank the gods or ask them for health and happiness in the future- but what they don't know is they are also making a lot of money for those who run the temple.

After the ceremony all the hair that is collected is combed, sorted into lengths and dyed before being shipped to Western countries to sell as wigs and hair extentions.

So while we see our extensions as a great way to give us a beauty boost and make us feel great as we hit the town- there is in fact a much bigger human story behind every lock of hair.

Batman at the Box Office

In the sixty years that Batman has been a comic strip it has found success in both print form as well as a lavish and colourful television series in the sixties.

But the movie versions have brought the cult character to a new audience as well as becoming a major box office success.

This weeks sees Christopher Nolan return to the director's chair and Christian Bale reprises the role as the caped crusader after the success of Batman Begins in 2005.

But the whole success of Batman on the big screen had begun in the late eighties when maverick director Tim Burton took the ideas from the lavish coloured TV series and turned it on it's head as he produced a dark film with a shadowy and troubled hero.

Despite these stark changes that Burton made the 1989 movie was a massive box office hit as Keaton's dark and brooding hero, despite the actor being a surprise choice for the lead role, was critical hit.

The film grossed over $411 million at the global box office and, despite the string of movies that have followed, is still the highest grossing DC Comic adaptation at the box office.

The success of the film led to Warner Bros. Animation creating an animation series as well as establishing Batman as a film series which has gone on to become one of cinema's most successful franchises.

Hayden Panettiere's Milo striptease

Hayden Panettiere performed a surprise striptease on her boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia's birthday.

The 'Heroes' actress - who plays self-healing cheerleader Claire Bennett in the hit TV show - donned a special raunchy cheerleader outfit and treated her co-star, who turned 31, by gyrating in front of him, before whipping off the costume to reveal sexy red lingerie.

A source said: "Hayden gave Milo an unforgettable birthday surprise by morphing from her bouncy cheerleader character in 'Heroes' to a bump-and-grind striptease.

"She asked the wardrobe girls to make her a Velcro lined version of the outfit she wears on the show. As she sang 'Happy Birthday' to Milo in front of cast and crew during lunch she ripped off the costume to show off her sexy red lingerie. Milo's face went bright red."

Hayden, 18, who met Milo on the set of 'Heroes', recently left him heartbroken by asking her best friend to move into her new house, instead of him.

Helen Mirren's drug confession

Dame Helen Mirren used to take drugs.

The 62-year-old actress dabbled with illegal substances when she was younger, but insists she was always a "good girl".

She said: "I was always a good girl. I always showed up on time. I was never ever late.

"I never got drunk. I did drugs but only on my own time, not when I was working."

The Oscar winner also revealed she regrets turning down the late Keith Moon's request for her to perform on stage with legendary British rock band The Who.

She said: "It was my absolute failure as a rock 'n' roller - I so blew it.

Pamela Anderson's X-rated role

Pamela Anderson was approached to be in 'The X-Files'.

Gillian Anderson - who was eventually cast as paranormal FBI investigator Agent Scully in the hit US TV show - admits bosses approached former 'Baywatch' actress Pamela before they offered her the role.

She said: "Pamela was somebody who was more familiar to them in terms of what was on TV at the time.

"They were looking for someone bustier, taller, leggier than me. They couldn't fathom how David and me could equal success. At the beginning, nobody trusted that I could do anything. I had no body of work behind me at all, and, certainly Fox felt very strongly that I wasn't the right person for the job."

Gillian also revealed since starring as Scully in the show and two spin-off movies, including the most recent - 'The X-Files: I Want to Believe' - she will forever be associated with that character.

She added: "I think it's difficult for people to think of me as anyone other than Scully. Even if they have seen me do an Irish accent in 'The Mighty Celt' or seen me doing 'Bleak House' on the BBC or whatever, people still have a hard time knowing exactly where I fit into the bigger scheme of film-making."

Brad Pitt's big family plans

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie want "a dozen" children.

The Hollywood couple - who welcomed twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline into the world on July 12 - have six children, but are determined to continue expanding their brood.

A source said: "Angelina wants one more baby naturally - even if they end up having twins again. Twins would be wonderful. A dozen kids would be their dream."

It was recently revealed Brad and Angelina have asked U2 frontman Bono to be godfather to their new babies after staying at his house in the South of France.

A source said: "Brad and Angelina think the world of Bono. They have been friends for years. Brad is a massive U2 fan and told Bono how much he admired him when they were introduced at a party a few years back.

"Since then, they've become very close, which Brad is thrilled about. Angelina is inspired by Bono's humanitarian work and gets on with his wife Ali Hewson."

Bono was said to be so "thrilled" by the offer he accepted immediately.

Ben and Jen Hunt for a House

Their family is about to grow, and now Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck may be in the market for roomier digs.

“I guess they are looking for a bigger place now,” pal Kevin Smith told PEOPLE at a the Maxim magazine party on Saturday in San Diego where he attended Comic-Con.

The director-actor, who is a longtime friend of Affleck and starred with Garner in 2006’s Catch and Release, also revealed how he learned the news that the couple – who are parents to daughter Violet, 2 – are expecting again.

“I saw him last week. Ben came over to watch my movie (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) at the house, and he told me, ‘We’re having another baby,’” recalls Smith.

He added that parenthood comes naturally to both stars. “[Jen] is such a Martha Stewart type. She is a perfect mom,” he says. “And [Ben] is a great dad, which I found not that surprising, but it’s a side of him that I never thought about before he became a dad. He’s a great father. He loves that kid of his.”

Remember when Denise Richards called for an emergency child custody hearing last week? Turns out she falsely accused Charlie Sheen of molesting their two daughters and now Chuck is going to be suing for full custody of the kids by charging that their mother is a big fat lair.

Sources say that Denise was desperate for some good content for her reality show that is doing so poorly in the ratings that E! is most likely not going to renew for another season.

“She thinks a court battle would be good for ratings so she wants all overnight visits with the girls ceased, and monitored visits with her nanny. She invited the media circus to the hearing and even wanted reporters in the judge’s chambers - which wasn’t allowed. It’s ridiculous.”

This recent move has Charlie more furious than ever and plans to sue her in civil court for defamation as well.

Have you ever played that game with your friends where you each say which famous celeb would play you in a movie about your life? Yes? We have, and our celeb of choice is Fiona Shaw or Old Steptoe – seriously, the resemblance is uncanny – so we were a little bit bemused when we found out who Tommy Lee thinks should play him. The on/off/on/off/on/off/strobe light lover of Pamela Anderson has said he'd like Johnny Depp(!) to play him in a new movie based on Motley Crue's memoir The Dirt. Tommy Lee said, "Johnny Depp would be my choice to play me. He's the best (actor) ever." We don't disagree with that, but we think you might be batting just slightly above your weight with that choice, Tommy. Johnny Depp is unarguably one of the hottest and most talented men on planet earth, while Tommy Lee is, erm, slightly less so. The planned biopic will cover all aspects of the rocker's life, including of course his fiery relationship with Pamela Anderson as well as his time in prison. There's no word yet as to whether Johnny is considering taking on the role, but it has just been confirmed that he will star as the Mad Hatter in a new Tim Burton adaptation of Alice In Wonderland. Now that does sound amazing.

Shia LaBeouf arrested for drunk driving

‘Indiana Jones’ star involved in 3 a.m. car accident in L.A.

LOS ANGELES - Shia LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Sunday after an early morning wreck in which the “Indiana Jones” star injured his hand and knee, authorities said.

LaBeouf was trying to make a left turn at a West Hollywood intersection around 3 a.m. when his pickup collided with another vehicle, rolling the truck over, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Wolf said.

“It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest,” Wolf said.Wolf said LaBeouf was booked then released for misdemeanor DUI. The 22-year-old actor was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was being treated for injuries to his left hand and a knee, as well as a minor head injury, Wolf said.

A woman passenger in LaBeouf’s truck and the driver of the other vehicle were not seriously injured. Wolf did not know the identities of the woman or the other driver.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, Wolf said. Two attorneys listed for LaBeouf did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press on Sunday; neither did two publicists for the actor.

The accident occurred when LaBeouf, who was headed northbound on La Brea Avenue, tried to turn onto Fountain Avenue, Wolf said. The intersection is the location of “High Voltage,” the tattoo parlor where the TLC reality show “LA Ink” is filmed.

LaBeouf starred in last year’s summer smash hit “Transformers,” and this year appears opposite Harrison Ford in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”

LaBeouf has had previous brushes with the law, but until now they’d been relatively harmless — to the degree that they only served to reinforce his image as a Hollywood good guy with an edge.

A drunken confrontation with guards at a Walgreens in Chicago late last year led to misdemeanor criminal trespassing charges. Arresting police in that incident noted that LaBeouf was “very courteous and polite,” and the charge was dropped because the drug store didn’t want to pursue the matter.

It was reported last week that Peaches had stopped breathing and was given mouth to mouth resuscitation after the alleged overdose.

While London Ambulance confirmed its crews attended the scene, the young socialite reportedly refused to accompany them to the hospital because she was so worried about her father finding out about her illegal antics.

A source said: "Peaches could not breathe for several minutes after suffering a respiratory arrest. Her friend had to give chest pumps and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Nicole Richie's tattoo ban

Nicole Richie has banned fiance Joel Madden from getting another tattoo.

The 26-year-old beauty, who has a six-month-old daughter Harlow with the Good Charlotte rocker, reportedly lost her temper when Joel told her he wanted an etching of their daughter on his tooth.

A source said: "Joel promised Nicole that he wouldn't get any more tattoos. Then a friend suggested a tooth tattoo, which is a photo imprinted on a tooth. When Joel told Nicole he wanted to get their daughter Harlow's face tattooed on one of his front teeth, she shrieked, 'Absolutely not!' "

Tooth tattoos are tiny, detailed portraits made on crowns and placed over the tooth. They can cost up to $500, but can be easily sanded off by a dentist if necessary.

Joel currently has around 10 tattoos, most of which completely cover both his arms.

The first etching he and his twin brother Benji ever got was of an Irish flag just above the elbow.

Spears and Federline settle custody case

LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears and Kevin Federline finalized their child-custody settlement Friday, including a $5,000-per-month increase in child support for the pop singer’s ex-husband.

An attorney for Federline delivered the terms of two separate agreements to Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon, who gave his approval late Friday afternoon.

The settlement ends a months-long saga between Spears and Federline over custody issues, attorneys fees and the singer’s public meltdown earlier this year. It may not, however, be the final word on the pair’s custody arrangements.The couple’s children are young: Sean Preston is 2 years old and Jayden James is 1. As the boys grow older, and Spears and Federline’s lives evolve, so too might their custody arrangements.

“Everyone has a right to change it at some point,” Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan said Friday.

For now, Spears’ payments to Federline will increase from $15,000 to $20,000 per month, retroactive to July 15. Spears will also pay Federline’s attorneys, Kaplan and James Simon, a single payment of $250,000.

Last week, the parties said they had also come to terms on custody arrangements, granting the 26-year-old pop singer more time with her children, including additional overnight visits. The exact terms of that agreement were sealed by the court.

Spears’ father, James, currently controls his daughter’s financial and personal affairs as a court-appointed conservator. He signed off on the agreement on Spears’ behalf.

A hearing on the conservatorship is scheduled for Thursday.

French police say camouflaged paparazzi who managed to get onto the grounds of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s chateau in southern France on Thursday fought with the Hollywood couple’s guards. Both the paparazzi and the Jolie-Pitt’s head of security confirmed the confrontation but gave widely different versions of events.

Freelance photographer Luc Goursolas said he broke a guard’s finger and bit another until he bled, and that they hit him with a walkie-talkie, punched and kicked him, leaving a head wound that required three stitches.

PETA Goes Up Against The Dark Knight For Dog Abuse Scene

A few days ago Ecorazzi reported that PETA had released a list of their top yen most animal-friendly superheroes. What I didn’t tell you (because I thought it was kinda silly) was that PETA was also pissed that a certain scene in The Dark Knight showed Batman beating a dog…that was about to attack the hell out of him.

We got a tip from one of our loyal readers who spoke with Christine Doré the author of the PETA piece about the film. Dore said, “Basically, while I personally thought it was a fantastic movie, it was a little disappointing, that part of it. I think, you know, that it’s funny that this superhero genius that everyone loves, who has all these fantastic gadgets, who never uses guns, that he doesn’t have access to a tranquilizer or other deflecting device.” Our tipster tried to get more juice, but was quickly rerouted to PETA’s official media department. Damn the man!

OK, so now it’s my turn to talk about this. I think it sucks that rottweilers get a bad rap. I wish they didn’t and I wish there weren’t so many euthanized each year. That said, I consider myself a solid 7 out of 10 on the animal rights scale and that scene didn’t offend me in the least. I believe the rule (correct me if I’m wrong vegans) is that violence towards animals is ONLY okay for self-defense. I love animals, but if I had a huge ass, scary Rottweiler centimeters away from destroying my face I just might have to swing too. I guess I worry about everyone (especially in the animal rights movement) being a little too sensitive about EVERYTHING. It was 2 seconds…in one scene…in an awesome movie…where like everyone gets the crap beat out of them.

Here’s your “Awww…isn’t that great?!” moment for the morning.

Obviously, Brad Pitt loves children (after all, he has six now!) and while Angelina Jolie was preparing for birth at the hospital in Nice, he took time to visit some in other wards. From this week’s Hello! Magazine,

“The famously philanthropic couple, who have given millions to charity through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation, have also been characteristically generous with the hospital. Brad “ordered hundreds of toys for the sick children here and has visited the wards to speak to the younger patients,” said a clinic spokesperson.

The spokesperson added, “They have charmed everyone who works here. It has been delightful having them to stay and we shall all be very sorry to see them go.”

Kanye West's enormous entourage

US rapper Kanye West is bringing an 18-coach strong entourage with him to a UK dance festival.

The 31-year-old rapper is also having his own stage built for the Global Gathering event, and is determined to outdo fellow rap star Jay-Z's headlining Glastonbury slot.

A source said: "A huge amount of planning has gone into Kanye's performance and fans won't be disappointed. To ensure the show goes to plan, no-one else will perform on the main stage on the Friday night. It is being built especially to his specifications. There will be 18 performers and £100,000 worth of lights put in place."

Kanye and his entourage are set to get five star treatment from the moment they arrive at the two-day festival at Stratford-upon-Avon, in England.

The source added: "Global gathering organisers are laying on a feast for Kanye and his crew. A top quality chef will be brought in especially to cook a three course sit-down meal."

The annual Global Gathering is renowned for bringing performers and DJs together.

This year is no exception as top name DJs Tiesto, Roger Sanchez, Fedde le Grande and Eric Prydz will perform alongside acts including Sam Sparro, Moby and Mark Ronson.

Sienna Miller's computer hair

Sienna Miller had her private parts digitally enhanced for her new movie.

The 26-year-old actress had to have pubic hair added by computer wizard for some scenes in her new film 'Hippie Hippie Shake'.

In the movie, Sienna plays Louise, the girlfriend of publisher Richard Neville, who was heavily involved in London's party scene during the 60s.

A studio source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "The film is set in the swinging 60s when fashion was wild and body hair even wilder. Unfortunately, Brazilian waxes weren't common in the 60s and Sienna's part involved one or two nude scenes - meaning that her grooming habits were on display. A merkin [pubic wig] simply wouldn't have done the trick, but luckily computer wizardry came to the rescue.

"Sienna's private parts were enhanced, giving her a rather unruly bush. All the cast had a good giggle about it and stoical Sienna happily played along."

A Brazilian is a method of pubic waxing where almost all hair is removed.

'Hippie Hippie Shake' tells the story of Richard Neville, Australian magazine editor of counterculture magazine Oz - who was jailed for obscenity in 1971.

Lindsay Lohan's dad ban

Lindsay Lohan has banned her father from attending a party she is throwing with her girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

The 'Mean Girls' actress is set to host a bash for their closest friends and family at Hollywood's Peninsula Hotel on August 8, but is reportedly worried her dad Michael Lohan will cause a scene if he attends because he doesn't approve of his daughter's lesbian relationship.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Michael thinks Lindsay is just going through another phase and that she will end up getting hurt. He thinks it is embarrassing."

The 22-year-old actress is even believed to have hired additional security to ensure anyone not on the guest list doesn't try and get in and ruin the party.

Lindsay's mother Dina - who fully supports her daughter's relationship - is said to be delighted her ex-husband won't be attending the event.

Lindsay - who spent time in rehab last year to be treated for alcoholism and drug addiction - recently spoke about her relationship with Samantha, the sister of super-producer Mark Ronson, as she celebrated her 22nd birthday earlier this month.

Admittedly, Mariah has cultivated an enviable body over the past few months, but we think she could show it off much more effectively in something a little more tasteful and age-appropriate. Still, we doubt she gives a damn what anyone thinks of her pastel monstrosity – there are no fashion no-nos in the world of Mazza Cazza.

Angelina Jolie's weighty role

Angelina Jolie has been told to pile on the pounds for her latest film role.

The 33-year-old actress must gain up to 28lbs by the bosses of 'The Thomas Crown Affair 2' - who she also worked with on her last movie 'Wanted' - because they are desperate to avoid her fainting on set as she did while filming the assassin thriller.

A source said: "Ideally they want Angelina to put on 28lbs for the role. It is going to be very physically demanding, which is why they want her to carry the extra weight.

"They don't want a reprise of what happened with 'Wanted', where she was fainting and they had to take her costumes in. She was also slated for being too skinny to portray an action woman, and for 'Thomas Crown' they want a convincing female lead."

Angelina - who gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline earlier this month - is due to play the leading lady opposite Pierce Brosnan, who reprises his role as billionaire art thief Thomas Crown.

Brosnan will also produce the movie.

Peaches Geldof's drug wish list

Peaches Geldof allegedly left a "shopping list" of drugs on a pub table.

Following a night of drinking, the 19-year-old - who collapsed on Sunday (20.07.08) from a suspected drug overdose - reportedly left behind an A4 sheet of paper reading: "Peaches: £30, weed. S Paul and Peaches and Vanessa £30 weed, 1 coke [both for £85]."

It also lists Diaz - short for the anti-anxiety drug diazepam - and anti-impotence drug Viagra, with Peaches' name next to it.

The list was found by 25-year-old Jayd Kent who had earlier seen the presenter with her friends in East London's Old Blue Last bar.

Jayd told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It seemed to cover drugs they wanted for the night. It detailed some pretty hardcore drugs."

However, a spokesperson for Peaches said: "We cannot speculate on a list when there is no proof that Peaches wrote it."

Peaches reportedly stopped breathing after her alleged drugs overdose on Sunday.

Peaches - whose mother Paula Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000 - was given mouth-to-mouth resuscitation by a friend before paramedics arrived at her London home.

The TV presenter, the daughter of musician-and-activist Bob Geldof, was brought back to consciousness but refused to go to hospital because she was terrified her father would find out.

However, her agent played down the seriousness of the incident yesterday (22.07.08).

Andy Varley said: "Peaches has made a full recovery from the minor incident reported in the newspapers.

"After attending the Batman premiere in Leicester Square, she is looking forward to work as usual."

Top earner Will Smith

Will Smith has topped a list of Hollywood's Highest Paid Actors.

The 'Hancock' actor - who has made $80 million in the last year - became the first ever actor to have eight consecutive movies break the $100 million mark at the box office.

His earnings caused him to shoot to the top of Forbes magazine's list, ahead of 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' star Johnny Depp who earned $72 million.

Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers came joint third with earnings of $55 million each, and 'Blood Diamond' star Leonardo DiCaprio rounded off the top five after making $45 million last year.

'Die Hard 4.0' actor Bruce Willis proves he still has the potential to be a huge box office star, after coming sixth in the list with earnings of $41 million.

He was closely followed by comedian Ben Stiller and 'National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets' star Nicolas Cage, who made $40 million and $31 million respectively.

The top ten was rounded off by 'Old School' funnyman Will Ferrell, who earned $31 million, and Adam Sandler with earnings of $30 million.

The list was compiled by looking at the actors' earnings from June 1, 2007 to June 1, 2008.

Police arrest photographers near Spears’ home

LOS ANGELES - Two photographers suspected of loitering on city-owned property near Britney Spears’ home were arrested Monday.

Alexandre Passos of Canoga Park and Eduardo Ravalha of Los Angeles, both 35 years old, were arrested around 6 p.m. Monday after being warned to leave an access road near Mulholland Drive and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, police spokeswoman April Harding said.

The road is near the exclusive gated neighborhood that Britney Spears and other celebrities, including Ed McMahon, call home.

Ravalha’s car was also impounded, Harding said. The pair were released, she said.

They had been warned once about leaving the road but were still on it when officers returned about 45 minutes later, Harding said.

The unnamed owner of the tape claims he visited the property and hid a camera, pointed at the sofa which captured the X-rated footage two months ago.

A legal source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper that the implications of the secret filming could be dire for the cameraman, saying: “If footage was obtained in this way it would be an outrageous invasion of privacy. But more than that he would not have had his friend’s consent to install the camera and must have entered the apartment without approval to hide it.
“He would be guilty of voyeurism. Instead of making a million he’d be going to jail for a few years.”

Madonna, 49, has vehemently denied rumours she has been having an affair with baseball player Alex - nicknamed A-Rod - and has repeatedly denied reports of a rift in her marriage to Guy Ritchie.
Madonna’s lawyers are “aware” of the sex tape claims, but have refused to comment further.

Meanwhile, Madonna has reportedly rearranged her forthcoming ‘Sticky and Sweet’ world tour so she can attend the premiere of Guy’s new movie ‘RocknRolla’ and his 40th birthday party on September 10th.

‘Batman’ star denies assault allegations

LONDON - The darkness around Batman has deepened: While audiences were shattering weekend box-office records in the U.S., Christian Bale was in London, where his mother and sister reportedly leveled assault allegations against the star of “The Dark Knight” that have yet to become clear.

Bale said the allegations were false Tuesday, hours after the Wales-born actor was arrested, questioned by London police and released on bail. The 34-year-old actor spent four hours talking with authorities but was not charged.

British media reported that Bale’s mother and sister told police he assaulted them at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Sunday night, a day before attending the European premiere of “The Dark Knight.” The Sun newspaper said the complaint was filed by sister Sharon Bale and mother Jenny Bale. “Christian Bale attended a London police station today on a voluntary basis,” read a statement from Bale’s lawyer, Simon Smith, of the London-based firm Schillings. “Bale, who denies the allegation, cooperated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police.”

A woman thought to be Bale’s sister Sharon told reporters “it’s a family matter” from her home in Corfe Mullen, 110 miles southwest of London. A man who answered the door at the home of Jenny Bale in nearby Bournemouth said she did not want to comment.

The reports surfaced just days after “The Dark Knight,” which co-stars Heath Ledger as Batman’s nemesis the Joker, took a record $158.4 million at the box office in its opening weekend. Ledger, who took the iconic villain to a deeply disturbed and diabolical place, died earlier this year of an accidental drug overdose in New York — a circumstance that has only added to the movie’s brooding mystique.

The Kenosha News reports the crowd greeted Simpson with a mixture of boos and cheers Saturday night. She strutted onto the stage in Daisy Duke shorts, a white button-down shirt and cowboy boots as she sang a cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots are Made for Walking.”

Her set included several cover songs, such as Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” and Shania Twain’s “Who’s Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?”

She also played songs featured on her upcoming album called “Do You Know,” including the single “Come On Over.”

It didn’t sit well with audience members that Simpson mixed in a few pop songs and played after a more established country singer, Kellie Pickler. “Many audience members found her attempt to crossover into country irritating and that her vocals lacked a southern sound,” said one critic.

Simpson seemed aware of the crowds reluctance to accept her, saying on stage:
“I don’t know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I’m just a girl from Texas; I’m just like you. I’m doing what I love and dating a boy.”

Many in the crowd didn’t seem to buy it!

A SEXY contestant on a Germany reality TV show has sparked a frenzy in her homeland by starring in a sex tape.

Internet search engines crashed after news of the raunchy home video starring GINA LISA - a contestant on Germany's Next Top Model - had been leaked online.

Top-selling German newspaper Bild has obtained footage of the tape and claims it contains scenes of "wild erotic games and unbridled sex".

The newspaper is also reporting Gina gave the green light for the 23-minute tape to be released.
