It's official – Britney's troubles are over

We still find it really hard to believe that just ten months ago, Britney Spears was about to be sectioned. Just look how far she's come in such a short time, and today especially marks a turnaround in the singer's life – well, according to her lawyer. Following on from Britney's traffic case being declared "a mistrial" earlier this week, the star's legal man Michael Flanagan had this to say: "This victory closes a chapter on her past troubles," he said. "It marks a turnaround for her. This case was a thorn in her side for more than a year, a reminder of the bad old days," he continued, before adding, "She's thrilled the court system, for once, worked in her favour." Although she never discussed it in public, it's clear now that the outcome of this latest case must have been really worrying Britney, especially as she could've faced a fine and even a spell in jail had she been found guilty. In the end, the jury said they had not been given enough evidence to find Britney guilty of any offence, and the case was dismissed." With a rumoured appearance at the MTV Europe Music Awards and *scream* a performance on The X Factor all coming up in the next few months, it must be nice for Brit to be able to relax and focus on her amazing comeback. We sincerely hope we never have to write the words "court" and "Britney" in the same story again and, we're happy to say, we don't think we ever will be.

Miss Teen Louisiana Lindsey Evans Arrested & Loses Crown

Miss Teen Louisiana, Lindsey Evans, has lost her crown 11 days early after she was arrested for leaving a restaurant without paying and for carrying marijuana.

Miss Teen Louisiana is losing her crown 11 days short of her year of being crowned.

Lindsey Evans, 18, was arrested last weekend after she and a group of friends ate at a restaurant and skipped out on a $46 bill. Lindsey returned to the scene of the crime after she left her purse behind. But when she went back to retrieve it, she was arrested when cops found marijuana in her purse.

Evans’ driver’s license and marijuana were found inside. Police arrested all four people in the group for theft when they returned for Evans’ pocketbook, and three were booked on drug charges.

Sponsor RPM Productions, Inc. says Evans was stripped of the title Tuesday because of her arrest.

The next Miss Teen Louisiana will be crowned Nov. 1 at a pageant in Lafayette.

Man sues Oprah Winfrey for $180 million

NEW ORLEANS - A Louisiana man has filed a lawsuit against Oprah Winfrey, claiming she and an attorney made false statements that led the FBI to arrest him on charges that he tried to extort the talk-show host.

Keifer Bonvillain, who had the charges dismissed, seeks damages of $180 million from Winfrey, her attorney and the FBI in the federal lawsuit filed Tuesday.

Bonvillain, of Houma, La., was arrested in December 2006 after he allegedly recorded telephone conversations with an employee of Winfrey’s production company and told a company associate he wanted to publish a book based on the recordings. The FBI said he claimed to have offers from publishers and tabloids ranging from $500,000 to $3 million.The FBI arrested Bonvillain when another company associate agreed to pay him $1.5 million, wired him $3,000 and arranged to meet him. Bonvillain claims in the lawsuit that he did everything he could to avoid doing anything illegal.

“There was substantial damage done to my name and reputation on a world level,” he wrote. “The extent of my damages is vast.”

Federal officials agreed to dismiss the charges last year on the condition that Bonvillain perform 50 hours of community service, undergo drug testing and pay $3,000 in restitution.

Chip Babcock, a lawyer for Winfrey’s Harpo Productions, denied the allegations in Bonvillain’s suit.

“And we know that this whole episode started when the plaintiff wiretapped a Harpo employee in California,” he said. “We advised (Bonvillain) that we believe that wiretapping was illegal, and this case will give us an opportunity to determine whether we were right about that.”

Jenna Jameson has bought a $3.4 million house in California.

The former adult movie star - who is expecting twins with boyfriend Tito Ortiz - purchased the four-bedroom waterfront property in the Huntington Beach area.

The mansion comes complete with a walk-in wine cellar, a private boat dock, a balcony and its own library.

The 34-year-old star recently posted photographs of herself wearing tiny lace knickers showing off her baby bump on social networking site MySpace.

After announcing she was expecting twins, Jenna said: "I had my second ultrasound scan and was greeted by two big healthy babies with pounding hearts. The time is right and God has blessed me. I have never felt more like a woman, or more alive.

"Tito is happier than I have ever seen him, it is so fulfilling to see him so proud. He looked me in the eye today after our doctor's appointment and said, 'I'm the luckiest man on earth. Thank you for having my babies.' I cried."

When you're already a household name, why not go ahead and change it to something else? Beyonce has dubbed herself Sasha Fierce, and has requested to be known by that name. Her new double album, I Am... Sasha Fierce is due out on Nov. 18.

"I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am," the sultry songstress said in a statement.

Okay, Beyonce, we mean, Sasha; but who exactly is this other side of you?

Paris Hilton "went totally crazy" exercising before her recent raunchy photoshoot.

The hotel heiress - who is seen wearing a tiny boob-tube bikini top and short skirt in the advertising campaign for her new fragrance Fairy Dust - was reportedly thrown into a panic when she found out what bosses had chosen for her to wear in the shoot.

A source close to Paris told Fox News: "Paris didn't want to be airbrushed so as soon as she found out what she had to wear she went overboard with Pilates classes and exercise - she went totally crazy toning up."

The 27-year-old beauty also came up with the idea for the shoot - which shows her waving a magic wand and wearing fairy wings complete with the tagline, 'Do you believe in fairy tales?' - because she wanted to "bring some fantasy to her fans during these tough economic times".

Jamie Day Arrest Bartending In The Nude

What is the deal with naked bartenders lately? Jamie Day was arrested for serving up drinks in the buff. And just last month another woman was charged with public indecency after her nude bartending.

Jamie Day, 24, works as a bartender at the Pub Room Alton, Illinois. Police responded after a bar customer complained about nudity at the bar. It sounds odd to hear a guy crying about a chick being nude. Maybe it was a jealous female?

Jamie Day threw a shirt on quickly before the police arrived. But Jamie Day still received a misdemeanor lewd entertainment charge. Interesting is that the nudity happened in the afternoon at around 2:41 p.m.

Apparently this isn’t the first problem for the bar as other complaints have come in regarding nudity in recent months and years. The Telegraph reports:

According to the UK's Sun , Latino heartthrob Enrique Iglesias a brush with death when the motor of his private jet failed on Tuesday!!!

He was heading into London on the plane and its pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at the Luton airport (which is 30 miles north of London).

After a short time on the tarmac, the plane was able to continue on to its intended London-area destination.

We would have jumped off the plane and said eff that shiz, we'll cab it to London, thank you!!!

Anne Hathaway's punch pleasure

Anne Hathaway was excited about punching Oscar-nominated actress Debra Winger.

Although she had to remain professional when pretending to hit her 'Rachel Getting Married' co-star, Anne admits it was a "pretty cool" scene to shoot.

She told BANG Showbiz: "Leading up to it, I thought, 'Oh my God, I get to have a scene with Debra Winger and we're punching each other. But when we did it was very much about the acting.'

"It does look very real. We rehearsed it quite a bit. I'd love to have some dramatic story of how Debra and I grabbed each other by the shoulders and made bull faces and breathed through our noses in order to rev ourselves up - but it's just acting.

"But afterwards I was like, 'I just punched Debra Winger!' "

'Rachel Getting Married' had its UK premiere at the London Film Festival in Leicester Square on Monday night (20.10.08).

In the movie, Anne plays recovering drug addict Kym who has returned from rehab for her sister's wedding, while Debra stars as her mother.

Kate Moss is buying a Caribbean love nest.

The supermodel is set to splash out on the Puerto Rico retreat for her and The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince - after the pair rekindled their romance earlier this month.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Kate loves the Caribbean and has been investigating owning a home Puerto Rico. Now she's putting her plan into action.

"She wants somewhere very private and reckons she and Jamie could find peace and tranquillity on the island.

"It will be her special place where she can escape from the limelight."

Kate - who currently owns a £8 million home in north London and a 17th Century Oxfordshire pad - has made several changes to her lifestyle to please her musician beau.

Julianne Hough Takes a Sick Day From Dancing

Julianne Hough isn't wasting any time dancing around last night's medical malady .

Thetwo-time Dancing With the Stars champ—and latest in a long line of castmembers, pro or otherwise, to pay a trip to the emergency room this season—has spoken out about her hospital trip and is assuring fans that her ambulance run was nothing more than a precaution.

A precaution that just so happened to get her out of today's group hip-hop dance rehearsal.

"Everybody, I'm ok. I'm fine," she wrote on her Fancast blog. "In case you didn't hear the news, last night it was my turn to go to the hospital.

"I didn't feel well the whole day. But I'm a trooper [sic]. I didn't tell anyone. I didn't want to be dramatic about things."

Hough went on to say that while she was experiencing stomach pains throughout the morning, she was able to pretape a singing performance—the budding country crooner will regale fans with a rendition of her latest single, "My Hallelujah Song," on the Nov. 11 results show—without any problems and that it wasn't until she was prepping for her jitterbug encore that things took a turn for the worse.

"I don't know if anyone could see my face during the show, but I was trying so hard to put a smile on. I was in so much pain. Afterward, I went backstage and curled up in a ball. That's when everyone said I needed to go to the hospital."

Talk about putting your size 9 in it. All this, added to the aforementioned cutesy pictures of Brad and Ange, must be a bit much for poor old Jen. The X Factor had an added level of excitement this weekend – we got to see Girls Aloud performing their new single The Promise. As well as being very impressed that Cheryl transformed from judge to pop star in a matter of minutes, we also marvelled at the full-on, sequinned, big-haired glamour of all five girls. In fact, we can’t help but think that their performance only showed up poor old Girlband even more. So, did you enjoy the show? Jesse Metcalfe says "diva" Nadine ruined his life!

There was a time not so long ago when we all would've jumped at the chance to get frisky in the flowerbeds with Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe, but, over the past few months, he's become a little, well...unsavoury for our tastes. We were all jealous of Nadine "endless legs" Coyle when she managed to nab him, but ever since they broke up and he became all sort of boozy and unshaven, we've found ourselves congratulating her on a lucky escape. We're sorry Jesse, but this all sounds a little bitter to us. Madonna’s publicist: no settlement finalized

LONDON - Madonna's divorce settlement with her estranged husband Guy Ritchie has yet to be finalized, the singer's publicist said Sunday.

The Sun and The Mail on Sunday reported that the two had struck a deal over their finances and how to split their property. The Mail also reported that they had agreed to a custody arrangement for the couple's children.

In a brief e-mail message sent to The Associated Press, Liz Rosenberg said she would not be commenting on media reports that the pop star and her film director husband had reached or were about to agree on how to share the couple's multimillion dollar fortune and custody of their children."I will not be commenting on the various reports regarding the divorce or of the settlement which has not been finalized," Rosenberg said. A statement from Guy Ritchie's representatives in London also declined comment.

Madonna and Ritchie announced their separation Wednesday after nearly eight years of marriage and Britain's tabloid press has speculated wildly on the outcome of the high-profile split.

Madonna and Ritchie married in December 2000 at a castle in Scotland. The couple are reportedly worth around $525 million, the bulk of that belonging to Madonna. Ritchie has an estimated $35 million fortune. They own homes in London, Los Angeles and New York, and a 1,200-acre retreat in Wiltshire, England.

The couple have two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted in Malawi in 2006. Madonna also has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from her relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon.

THE REAL REASON BEHIND MADONNA AND GUY'S DIVORCE

Now the divorce all out in the open , so-called friends of Madonna and Guy Ritchie appear to be coming out of the woodwork to reveal more details about the breakdown of their marriage.

Sources have revealed this morning that trouble starting brewing way back in 2005 after Madonna took a nasty tumble off a horse.

The queen of pop broke eight bones and took weeks to recover, describing it has ‘the most painful experience of her life’.

And pals of the superstar claim Guy was unsympathetic towards his wife at the time and ‘abandoned her emotionally’.

‘Madonna was in a huge amount of pain and expected Guy to drop everything to be at her bedside,’ said a pal to The Sun.

‘In her mind that is what every husband should do to support his wife when she has been through a traumatic, possibly life-threatening experience. But Guy approached the whole thing in what she now calls, ‘A very British way’.

At the time, Guy told reporters he wasn’t worried about his missus because she was ‘too tough’ to die.

‘She was so furious at what she saw as Guy’s lack of support and cruelty that she told him she was wrong to marry him as he couldn’t possibly be her soulmate,’ adds the pal.

Friends believe the incident sparked a number of rows and eventually led to the collapse of their marriage.

The 'Batman Begins' actress caused such a stir wearing her husband Tom Cruise's jeans rolled up she has decided to launch a fashion line.

A source said: "Katie has designed four prototypes and hopes to debut her collection at Neiman Marcus."

Katie first sparked rumours she was branching into fashion after wowing the crowds at a movie premiere in August, when she wore a navy gown she had designed herself.

Although she ruled out releasing her own fashion line of couture gowns at the time, it is believed she has been inspired to launch a denim range by her friend Victoria Beckham.

Russell Brand's 'beautiful' life

Russell Brand loves living in America with the "beautiful people".

The British comedian - who is forging a career in the US with movies including 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and the upcoming 'Bedtime Stories' - feels inspired living among such creative people.

Actress' Companion Shot In Hollywood

A good friend of Bonnie Somerville was shot in the back at a Hollywood party last night.

Somerville (the girl who played Ross' GF Mona on "Friends") was leaving a T-Mobile party on Sunset Blvd. just after 2 AM with her friend when, according to our law enforcement sources, "a man came out of nowhere from behind with a gun."

We're told the gunman demanded her purse, she began to scream, a struggle ensued and the suspect shot Somerville's friend in the back.

The picture you see of Bonnie was taken at the event, just hours before the shooting.

We don't know his condition. The suspect, a black male who appeared to be in his teens, is still on the loose.

UPDATE: TMZ has spoken with the man who called 911. He says Somerville told cops after her friend was shot the suspect said, "Bitch, gimme your purse or you'll get shot too."

Somerville gave up her purse. Somerville told cops the suspect escaped in a vehicle with several other men. She thought the weapon was a BB gun, but a nearby valet said it was a .22. The witness told us the friend was shot in his lower right back.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ it was a "small caliber bullet" and that the victim was "alert and awake" and taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood.

A warm Hollywood welcome was extended to DJ AM at a Los Angeles benefit concert held to help raise funds for the families of the four victims of the plane crash that injured him and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.

Adam Goldstein (his real name) hit up the turntables at the event titled "Welcome Home DJ AM" along with other celebrity DJs Mark Ronson, Swayze, Danny Masterson and DJ Aoki. A concerned-looking Hilary Duff showed up and can someone please explain to me why Cisco Adler always looks so...special? And in case you were wondering, yes, Mark Ronson was rocking the man purse.

Held at the Avalon, the concert was a precursor to Goldstein'shigh-profile return with Jay-Z at the rapper's Hollywood Palladium performance.

Angelina: Ready to Adopt Again!

Angelina Jolie spoke with Matt Lauer on The Today Show this morning and affirmed that she and Brad are considering another adoption.

"You've talked about having more children, adding to the group? Have you considered adopting again?" Matt asked as Angie nodded and murmured in assent.

"Do you have anything in mind?" Matt pushed a little further as the Changeling star smiled and nodded.

"Yeah," she replied, without elaborating further.

"Is it something you'd do soon?" the Today Show host questioned."It depends," Angie responded. "You can't even start the process until any new children are six months old, to understand how the new family has settled to see what you could absorb into a new family," she added of the adjustment.Angie adds that their family is used to adding new kids, so when twins Vivienne and Knox came at the same time, Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh were prepared."We have so many children, they're not really stunned any more when kids come home," she said. "Mad is just, he's the professional big brother," she added.
As for partner Brad, Angie says she's no longer happy being alone and being without him, saying, "I've met the right person."

Day 1 of Britney Trial Ends, No Jury

And now for the latest on Britney Spears' never-ending legal troubles!

Day one of the singer's misdemeanor driving without a license trial ended on Wednesday without a single juror picked. Britney did not appear at court.

Potential jurors differed on several aspects of the case. One man blamed the paparazzi for Spears' troubles while another called the idea of a trial "ridiculous." Only one person was dismissed, a woman who claimed she had some previous contact with Brit's business manager.

This puts a damper on the trial, which was supposed to move forward with opening statements on Thursday.

The charge is the last remnant of a case stemming from an accident last August in which Britney, 26, hit a parked car and left the scene. At the time she did not have a valid California drivers liscence.

Brit's father, Jamie Spears, may be called as a witness in the case, which is expected to last for three days.

‘When you work that far in advance, it’s impossible to know what people will call albums.’

Britney’s camp also said it would be unlikely Britney will change her album title.

Perhaps the boys should collaborate with Brit and produce some sort of super poptastic mega album? No?

Britney Spears' mother is to make her controversial memoir into a movie.

Lynne Spears is in talks with Hollywood studios who are desperate to win the rights to her tell-all book 'Through The Storm' - which details Britney's recent troubles and her other daughter Jamie Lynn's teen pregnancy.

A source said: "Lynne's pitching the book around to studios. She even says she wants Julia Roberts to play her. It's insane!

Britney is reportedly furious at the plans - which could see 'The House Bunny' star Anna Faris play her - and has accused her mother of cashing in on her problems.

The 'Womanizer' singer, who is set to start promoting her new album 'Circus', is said to be on the verge of disowning her mother because of the proposed film.

The source added to Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Britney is telling friends, 'That woman doesn't even seem like my mother any more. She was overheard saying, 'She will do anything to get herself more famous and make more money off my name. It's just unreal. If I could cut her out my life completely, I would.' "

In the book, Lynne claims Britney began drinking alcohol at 13, lost her virginity at 14 and first took drugs at 15.

It also covers her failed marriage to Kevin Federline - with who she has two sons, Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two - and gives the lowdown on her breakdown earlier this year which saw her sectioned and lose visitation rights to her children.

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer shared a romantic dinner this weekend.

“They looked like they were having a fantastic time,” says one observer of the Saturday night dinner. A source close to John adds, “They were hanging out this weekend.”

Aniston, 39, in New York on business, dined with Mayer, 30, on oysters, ravioli with mushrooms and black truffles and fish.

The night before, Aniston and Mayer joined four others for a dinner at Mantra restaurant in Boston.

“They were friendly but regular,” says a restaurant staffer. “We wouldn’t have noticed them if someone hadn’t called ahead. … They just came in with their group and sat in the hookah bar and drank and ate.”

The actress returned to Los Angeles on Monday.

Even though his summer romance with Aniston is now a thing of the past, Mayer, according to a friend, is “someone who is known for staying connected to people he cares about and for staying friends with people he’s been linked to.”

Tim McGraw is Sorry for His Hits Album

Tim McGraw apologized to fans Tuesday for his latest greatest hits album, saying his label should have instead released a record with new music.

“I am saddened and disappointed that my label chose to put out another hits album instead of new music,” says the country singer. “I’ve only had one studio album since my last hits package. It has to be just as confusing to the fans as it is to me.”

McGraw, 41, said he has been working on a new studio album for more than a year and has debuted three new songs on his tour. But he said his label, Curb Records, decided to release a greatest hits album instead, to extend his contract term.

“I had no involvement in the creation or presentation of this record,” he says. “Sure, I love the songs and I don’t want to take anything away from all the creative people who were a part of making those records. But the whole concept is an embarrassment to me as an artist. In the spirit of an election year, I would simply say to my fans ‘I’m Tim McGraw, and I don’t approve their message.’ ”
