BRITNEY GETS HER FIRST US NUMBER ONE IN NINE YEARS

Wowsa. Britney Spears really is back on top form.

The pop princess has soared straight to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart with her new single Womanizer.

It’s the first time the singer has bagged herself a US number one since her debut single Baby One More Time waaaaay back in 1999!

Yikes. We can’t believe that either.

The single has broken records by jumping from number 96 to one in just one week, making it the biggest jump in Billboard chart history.

Go Brit!

Britney has only ever had three other tracks make the US top 10 including Toxic, Ooops! I Did it Again and Crazy.

Womanizer is taken from Britney’s highly-anticipated comeback album Circus, out on December 2 – the pop star’s 27th birthday.

Claps all round.
