Rapper DMX aka Earl Simmons won't be looking to PETA for support when he faces felony drug possession and animal cruelty charges in Arizona.
The animal rights group has written prosecutors, asking the judge to throw the book at Mr. X, urging that the sentence include a psych evaluation.
Authorities say DMX had 12 pit bulls, all of which showed clear signs of neglect. They also found three dead dogs, buried on his property back in 2007.
This is his second run-in with authorities on animal cruelty charges.

Let's see if she has the decency and respect to bring my kids to the wake and funeral. THIS will show her true colors! Thus, not even a call. But that's par for the course with Dina! TSA employees then began to pat her down — which is routine — and she became uncooperative. They asked her to sit, and that’s when we’re told the balloons and baggies fell from her waistband through her pant leg and onto the floor.
Drummer Steve Foley, played drums on The Replacements final tour, “All Shook Down”, died this past weekend from a precription drug overdose in Minneapolis. Foley was only 48

Foley, 49, died over the weekend of an apparent accidental drug overdose, said his sister, Colleen Foley. Steve was found in his home by co-workers Monday, when he didn’t show up for work at the car dealership.
Steve Foley had been sober for almost 15 years, but his sister said he struggled with anxiety as well as depression.
“He was such a lovable guy — a total cornball who specialized in bad puns and corny jokes,” she said.
LeeAnn Weimar, a Minneapolis concert promoter and close friend, said, “This is not your typical rock-guy-on-drugs story. He was really struggling, but we know he definitely wasn’t trying to check out.”
Steve Foley joined The Replacements after original drummer Chris Mars left following the All Shook Down sessions. Steve Foley actually met Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson in a bar, and then offered the guys a ride.
When they got in the car, they noticed a copy of All Shook Down, prompting both members to declare Foley as their new drummer. Foley sat behind the kit for what was the group’s final tour, including their last ever concert on July 4th, 1991 in Chicago’s Grant Park.
After being with The Replacements, Steve Foley played in the band Bash & Pop, and also worked as a car salesman.
Visitation will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel, 5000 W. 50th St., Edina, with a service to follow and burial at Lakewood Cemetery.

Spies scoping out photos from the latest Transformers sequel, Revenge of the Fallen, have spotted what appears to be a production Chevy Volt on set! This is big news — not only because GM has a lot rolling on this electric hope — but also since the sheet wasn’t supposed to be pulled off the final model of the car until later this year.
Not only did AutoBlog Green do some photo comparison of some Volt characteristics already leaked to the public, but a video from the movie set also surfaced showing “Volt” badges on the car and confirming earlier suspicions.

Michael Lohan would "sacrifice" his life to get rid of his daughter Lindsay's girlfriend Samantha Ronson.
Michael - who has never made a secret of his dislike of Lindsay's DJ lover - insists Samantha is "a drug" for Lindsay, who sought treatment in a rehabilitation clinic last year, and he would do anything to separate the couple.
He said: "A person can be a drug and Sam is a drug. She's very controlling and manipulative and it's not a healthy relationship for Lindsay. It's not about Sam giving Lindsay drugs or alcohol or anything - there are prescription drugs from doctors - that have a serious effect on a person. And I would like to put that out there. These things can mess with a person's mind.

Michael also revealed he has no doubt the relationship will end soon, because it is too "intense".
He added: "I told Lindsay after she left the Cirque Lodge clinic that she needed to surround herself with good people when she got out and Sam is definitely not that good person. Lindsay is fragile and Sam takes advantage of her and the relationship is too intense and too dramatic."
Michael says he can see similarities between Lindsay and troubled singer Britney Spears, who suffered a public meltdown earlier this year.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Swimmer Michael Phelps' victory lap on NBC continues, with the Olympian champion booked to make his acting debut on the 34th season premiere of "Saturday Night Live."
Phelps will host the sketch comedy series when it begins its new season September 13 with musical guestLil Wayne.
NBC has banked on viewer interest in Phelps continuing beyond his successful quest to win eight gold medals at the Beijing Summer Games. Phelps is a guest on NBC's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on September 8, and the network picked up the broadcast rights to the 2009 World Swimming Championship, in which Phelps will compete.
DENVER - Tim Gunn recently weighed in on Katie Holmes’ look, saying he “can’t explain it,” and now he’s chimed in on Miley Cyrus.
“(Miley Cyrus) is just a little too tarty, forgive me. I don’t want her to look like she’s going into a convent school, but it’s just a little too much for a 15-year-old. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear she was 25,” Gunn told OK! magazine.
Gunn also expressed some dissatisfaction with the current season of “Project Runway.” (Full disclosure: Yours truly is among those who are for the first time bored with “PR.”)
“They walk around telling each other how great they are, and I keep saying to them, ‘Someone is gonna go home,’” Gunn told the magazine.

Former ‘One Day at a Time’ star allegedly carrying cocaine, heroin at LAX
LOS ANGELES - Former teen star Mackenzie Phillips has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after she allegedly was found carrying drugs at Los Angeles International Airport.
Airport police Sgt. Jim Holcomb said the co-star of the old sitcom “One Day At a Time” was arrested Wednesday.
The 48-year-old Phillips was heading to New York when she failed to pass a security screening and a secondary search turned up a small amount of cocaine and heroin in her possession, he said.
Phillips is the daughter of John Phillips, the late leader of the singing group the Mamas and the Papas. She has struggled with drug addiction in the past and was fired from “One Day At a Time,” which ran from 1975 to 1984, for drug-related causes.
She went on to star in the Disney Channel series “So Weird” and has made intermittent TV appearances in recent years.
LINDSAY LOHAN's father MICHAEL has slammed his daughter's rumoured girlfriend SAMANTHA RONSON - over reports she is to write a tell-all book about her life with the actress. George Clooney and Brad Pitt lived la dolce vita in Venice Tuesday night, partying into the wee hours.
In town to promote their film Burn After Reading, which opens the film festival Wednesday, the pair first attended a black tie fundraiser for their Not On Our Watch charity. Some 200 Italian VIPs – plus their costar Tilda Swinton – attended the dinner at the Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca Island.
"They both have such passion and such dedication," a guest told PEOPLE of the pair.
After the event wound down, the two actors partied on with some 20 fundraiser guests, arriving at the Cipriani's poolside bar just after midnight.
"We've had a lot to drink," said a jacketless Pitt, 44, laughing and raising his champagne glass. A tan and trim-looking Clooney, 44, had his shirt unbuttoned.

More than 60 celebrities will participate in Stand Up to Cancer, a live fund- and awareness-raising television special that will air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS.
Jessica Alba, Halle Berry, Jack Black, Sheryl Crow, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Garner, Diane Keaton, Rob Lowe, Sharon Osbourne, Keanu Reeves and Carrie Underwood are among the stars set to appear, it was announced Wednesday.They'll join previously announced participants including Salma Hayek, Scarlett Johansson, Lance Armstrong, America Ferrera, Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron and Forest Whitaker.
The celebrities, along with network news anchors Katie Couric, Charles Gibson and Brian Williams, will deliver an evening of "edutainment," said executive producer Laura Ziskin, a cancer survivor who helped establish the event and the nonprofit group behind it.
"There will be laughter. There will be tears. And you'll learn something about how we can turn the outcome of this disease if we just set our minds to it," Ziskin said.
We’ve heard reports that Angelina Jolie will donn the super-tight latex suit to play Catwoman in the next Batman film, but now there are rumors that it will actually be the 62 year-old Cher!

Kate Moss admits that she was way too skinny back in the day, but says she was never anorexic. She was waif-like and thin that NYC graffiti artists painted “Feed Me” across her belly on a CK ads at city bus stops. Funny as that is…they way she treated her body back then is not. She blames not eating enough during the beginning of her career on bad hotels and disgusting airline food, but I’m not buying it. And homegirl is delusional if she thinks she wasn’t “bony-bony.”

She says when she was “doing shows and flying economy … nobody ever fed me. Or I’d be staying in hotels so cheap that by the time I’d get in, there wasn’t any room service. I didn’t eat for a long time. Not on purpose,” she admits.
“You’d be on shoots with bad food or get on a plane, and the food would be so disgusting you couldn’t eat it. You go to a show, and there’s no food at all, so if you’re doing shows back to back, you can forget eating,” Moss adds. “I remember standing up in the bath one day, and there was a mirror in front of me, and I was so thin! I hated it. I never liked being that skinny.”

This is such a strange story because David Beckham is normally the most devoted husband in the world. David and Victoria Beckham were driving to the airport from their home in Bargemon, France on Friday when the soccer star slammed their BMW into a wall.
Beckham was photographed embracing a tearful Victoria in the car and comforting her, before he raced to the departure lounge with her father Tony Adams. Beckham was forced to run to catch his flight, leaving his distraught partner with the wrecked car.

A rep for the DA handling the case just released a statement saying, "We found that his actions were more in line with an assault than a sexual battery. It didn't appear to be an overt sexual act."
The Dick still faces four misdemeanor counts from his drunken tirade at the Murrieta, Ca. Buffalo Wild Wings, and will be arraigned next week for battery, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and possession of less than once ounce of marijuana.
After canning Avril Lavigne's August 29 concert because the singer was "too sexy" -- officials in Kuala Lumpur are now saying she's free to be as unsexy as she can possibly be.

Rapper / producer Shawntae “Da Brat” Harris was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 7 years probation after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated assault.
During a private Halloween party last October, Da Brat struck then-Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens with a 1,7L rum bottle, causing her to fall down some stairs and cutting her face which will remained scarred permanently. The cheerleader was working as a part-time hostess at Studio 72, the night club where the event was held.
Aside from the total of 10 years she received, Da Brat will have to undergo mental evaluation, receive substance abuse treatment, complete 200 hours of community service and attend anger management classes.
Da Brat is said to feel remorse about what happened and is taking responsibility for her actions.
As a consequence of the attack, Stevens could not attend the Falcons’ games and had to cancel her scheduled appearance on a Tyler Perry show, not to mention the hospital bill she was handed after the brawl. Civil lawsuit is going to be fun.
It was a dog day afternoon for Cameron Diaz, who took in an injured German shepherd Saturday afternoon.
"Cameron and a friend were involved in returning an injured dog to its owner," Diaz's rep Brad Cafarelli confirmed.
The actress, 35, cared for the dog at her Hollywood Hills home while her assistant posted notices about the found canine.
"Diaz brought the dog in her house and gave it some food and water," said a source. "Her assistant posted a 'found German shepherd' sign and [the dog's owner] – Diaz's neighbor who was driving around the area – came across it."
Later, the owner took the dog to the vet, and Diaz "made time to visit the vet where the dog was being treated," the source added.
War comedy TROPIC THUNDER has kept its grip on the top of the U.S. box office, after earning an impressive $16.1 million (GBP8.05 million) during its second week of release. The Ben Stiller-directed film, which stars Stiller, as well as Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black, beat The House Bunny into second place. The Anna Faris-starring comedy still managed an impressive haul of $15.1 million (GBP7.55 million) in its first week, forcing another new opener, Death Race, into third place, with takings of $12.3 million (GBP6.15 million), The Dark Knight kept its place in the top four, now boasting total U.S. takings of $489 million (GBP244.5 million). Animation Star Wars: The Clone Wars finished fifth with $5.7 million (GBP2.85 million). The Longshots, directed by Fred Durst and starring Ice Cube, and The Rocker, starring Rainn Wilson, were the flops of the week; earning just $4.3 million (GBP2.15 million) and $2.8 million (GBP1.4 million) respectively.
