If the thought that the Lohan camp might be running low on intrigue and tittle-tattle has been keeping you awake, prepare to sleep like a particularly tired baby tonight.
After yesterday's squabbling between Lindsay's dad Michael and her lover Samantha Ronson, today it's been reported that Li-Lo has been badgering American Olympic hero Michael Phelps for a date.
"At first he thought it was a joke when she got in touch," said a source. "But she's since been phoning and texting constantly."
"It's become a running joke in his camp. Lindsay has been trying to meet up with him. They're both going to the MTV Video Music Awards next month so they'll be sure to see each other properly then."
Well, either that, or Michael will see Lindsay and make a dash for it. Unless he's welcoming the clinginess? Source? "Phelps is certainly flattered by all the attention, but it's not clear how seriously he's taking it all."
Meanwhile, father Michael has been accused of milking the death of his dad after immediately releasing a statement to OK! magazine following the sad news, which criticised his ex-wife and Lindsay's mum Dina.
"My father just, literally, died in my arms," it reads. "I notified all my kids and my lawyer notified Dina's attorney. Let's see if she has the decency and respect to bring my kids to the wake and funeral. THIS will show her true colors! Thus, not even a call. But that's par for the course with Dina! She didn't even send a card or visit when he was sick."
