Guy Ritchie's painting presents

Guy Ritchie bought Madonna two Hermes drawings for her 50th birthday.

The 'RocknRolla' director has revealed that, although the pictures were expensive, they cost nothing compared to the lavish party he threw for his wife at exclusive London nightspot Volstead to celebrate her special day earlier this month.

Guy said: "I bought her two original Hermes drawings of equestrian thingies - but, trust me, the party was infinitely more expensive than the paintings."

The 39-year-old director also rubbished claims he and Madonna - who have been plagued by rumours their marriage is in crisis - are to renew their wedding vows.

He said: "We won't be renewing our vows. I think once was enough. And I've just paid out on a big party for her birthday!"

Guy is currently promoting his new film 'RocknRolla', which is about London gangsters who are battling for a slice of a property scam.

Thandie Newton takes the film's female lead, with Guy - who directed Madonna in the critically-panned 2002 film 'Swept Away' - saying there was never any question his wife would star in it.
